V8 Hotstox multi Champion Chris Fort tasted stock car racing in New Zealand this week. Chris raced at Rototrua's Hydralink Speedway saturday night competing in the inaugural 'World of Stocks' event. Racing a Lance Aldridge machine, Chris claimed a fine 3rd place in his final race of the night. He placed 22nd in his first heat and got a DnF in the 2nd.
The Championship was decided over 3 races with the grid positions drawn out of the hat, reversed for heat 2 and lined up in points scoring order for the 3rd. Chris finished top of the overseas entrants but could do little to prevent Rotorua's Steve Axten from taking the title after a dominant performance.
Fort wound up 14th overall out 26 starters. Also racing was Stuart Milnes who failed to finish a race. More info can be found at the Rotorua site.
