Southern Thunder V8 Style
On the weekend on the 19th and 20th September Smeatharpe Stadium, Taunton will probably have the loudest Rumble of Engines since the Aircraft used the airfield during the War. Over 20 V8 Hotstox are making the trip South to contest the first ever events for the Formula at the Raceway.
The Boc have worked hard to behind the scenes and gathered tremendous support from sponsors making it a very Lucrative weekend for all attending.
Our Current World Champion, #1 Olly Spencer, making his first appearance since lockdown and National Points Champion, #131 Kevin Stutchbury, looking to add to his already record breaking Final tally head a star studded entry of v8s.
Other Notable Star drivers including #466 Jacob Downey, #288 Jon Brown, #69 Matt Barnard, #222 Guy Jolly and #10 Gilen Bullock also plan on attending along with some of the finest Girl Racers on the Ovals #8 Catherine Harris, Sister of Current F1 World Champion Tom Harris, continues to impress each week along with #154 Sophie Maynard, our first race winner out of lockdown and #525 Amy Jagger, having had some of her most successful meetings to date, the Girls will be giving a great representation and dont be suprised to see any of them with the chequered flag over the weekend.
We also have another New graduate from Ministox, #167 Molly Robson who is finding her feet but will none the less be in the mix.
Two Drivers on the Grid #466 Jacob Downey and #384 Carl Boswell will be no strangers to Taunton both doing many laps in the National Saloon Class and will be looking to put the experience to good use, as will #174 Richard and #173 Ashley Pursey both Racing the Brisca F2s here many times in years gone by.
#288 Jon Brown sits on 2 Finals in 2020 can Taunton be his 3rd and 4th ?
We have some very Long Distance travellers in the shape of entertainer of the year 2019 #402 James Billows and Father and Son Kellet duo both Running well last time out, #438 Craig Kellet winning the meeting Final at Skegness.
#222 Guy Jolly, #10 Gilen Bulllck and #328 Michael Boswell are more known for there serious pace on shale but all on the day can bring there form to Hard surfaces, will we be seeing one of this trio spring a suprise over the weekend or will #69 Matt Barnard or #490 Craig Thompson, who both like the Tarmac Racing, be the men making the charge. #176 Stephen Young continues to impress in the Ex Adam Joyce Car, can ge take the Southern Honour or will #146 Grant Leather come out all guns blazing and steal the show in what will be his 1st 2020 outing… #507 Luke Smith could bee one to watch also from his white grade start in the Ex Phoebe Wainman Tarmac Car, all drivers we be battling to find a good set up for the weekend so it really is wide open.
All the above are just a few reasons to get down to Smeatharpe Stadium Taunton on 19th and 20th September and Watch History being written. It promises to be a great two days of action whatever happens, the local Neighbourhood will be ringing to the sounds of v8s all weekend we cant wait to see who master the tricky Circuit, come down, join the fun and be part of great weekend.
