Northampton – 30th April

The 2nd Visit to Northampton started spectacularly in the Ben Fund race with a big pile-up on a freshly watered track; catching almost half the drivers out! On the restart, 131 Kevin Stuchbury broke clear and raced away to defend the Ben Fund Trophy with a commanding drive.

Heat 2 was a win for the World Champion 1 Steve Thompson after a hectic race claiming a lot of star drivers, with a notable 2nd place for 344 Richard Smith who found his feet and drove a brilliant race.

The Final saw V8 returning driver 187 Craig Smith take a solid win, something which has been threatening to happen in the last 2 or 3 meetings.

The all-comers was another great race with 1 Steve Thompson again coming out on top after a good battle with 69 Matt Barnard.

A great Night in the Midlands with the next v8 outing there being the European Championship on 30th July; a huge thank you once again to all of our drivers!
